There has been a lot of talk lately about “Prop 37” and “GMO’s” but many still do not fully understand what it all means. As more people learn the truth behind it, they are shocked that it’s even a question in our country. Proposition 37, a Mandatory Labeling of Genetically Engineered Food (GMO’s) Initiative, is on the November 6, 2012 ballot in California. If approved by California voters, it would require genetically engineered food labeling, a fundamental right already in place in 50 countries around the world, including all of Europe, Japan, India and yes even China!
Wouldn’t it seem pretty logical that we should have this right in America? America’s the Land of the Free right? Well you might be surprised to know:
As of October 14, 2012, about $35.6 million has been donated to the “No on 37” campaign, in an effort to prevent consumers from knowing what’s in their food.
Who Would Try To Prevent This?

The corporations above are trying to prevent Californians (and eventually Americans) from having a fundamental right that even the people of China have had since 2004. To date they have spent over 35 millions dollars on ads in California to sway the vote towards No. Ask yourself a simple and logical question…Why would they want to stop the people from knowing what’s in their food? Remember, Prop 37 does NOT ban Genetically Modified Food. It simply requires food that contains GMO’s to be labeled – so that free Americans can have the knowledge of what’s in their food and can then make their own choices on what to feed their families.
So who will win this battle? The people of this free country or large corporations like Monsanto, who are trying to restrict their freedoms. For those in California, the vote on Prop 37 may very well determine what type of country America will be…
